This week I whipped out a blanket for Natalie.

What I used:
Size Q crochet hook.
7 skeins Bernat Baby Blanket: White
5 1/4 skeins Bernat Pipsqueak: Pixie Pow
I kept the wrappers this time so I would know for sure how many I used.
I held the two different strands together while crocheting.
There's probably a technical term for it, but I have no idea.
This being my second crochet project...

Here she is giving it her cuddle of approval.

My daughter Ashley has put in her request for a cuddly blanket.
So I picked up some white & pink yarns for her blanket today.
I told her it wouldn't be done next week.

I'm still working on the knitted blanket I started HERE.
I'm on the 4th section.
I try and do a bit on it everyday....
I also tell myself it won't be done in a day or two.
Even though I wish it where.
But then I'd just have to start something else.
Slow but steady..

Weekly Meal Plan - Week 3

I didn't get around to making up my weekly plan until Sunday morning,
but since I'm using 3 left over recipes from last week I wasn't worried.
We had a lot of left overs and didn't use all the recipes I picked for last week.
Made this weeks plan super quick.
I just picked a couple of standard dinners and 1 new one.

Here is the Pinterest board I created to keep track of the recipes I'm using
 Meal Planning - {Picked Recipes}
This was I won't have to search for them later.
Some I've used before and some are new.

I printed out a weekly meal planner sheet I found online.

This weeks plan:

July 27- August 2

Sunday: Crock Pot Cheesy Pasta & Beef  (didn't use last week)
Monday: Red Chile Chicken with Rice & Black Beans (didn't use last week)
Tuesday: Crock Pot Garlic & Brown Sugar Chicken (didn't use last week)
Wednesday: Hamburgers & Sweet Potato Fries
Thursday: Crock Pot Roast Beef
Friday: LEFT OVERS, PIZZA or what ever (I'm not cooking)

I know I said I wouldn't start another project until I finished my Knitted blanket,
but what can I say..
The yarn was calling to me.

I pinned a couple of thick crocheted blankets and had to make one for Lexie.
I crocheted it with two different yarns.
One really thick and soft (9 skeins) and the other one small and full of fibers (6 skeins).
I doubled these up.
I used a Q hook.
I only allowed myself to crochet one skein of yarn a day.
I did take it on a road trip and I was able to do 3 skeins that day.
So it took about a week to make.

It turned out super cuddly and as you can see Lexie loves it.
Natalie was already asking where her's was.
So I'll have to whip her one up this week.

As for my knitted blanket I've finished 3 sections....
Slow but steady...

Weekly Meal Plan - Week 2...

Week 1 worked out pretty good.
So I'm giving it another try.
It was nice to not have to think about it.
I just walked to the fridge to see what I had to get out.

This week I spent Thursday morning (Lexie was watching Mickey Mouse Club) searching my Pinterest boards for recipes.
I created a board called Meal Planning - {Picked Recipes} to toss the recipes I'm planning on using in.
So I won't have to search for them later.
Some used before.
Some new.

I printed out a weekly meal planner sheet I found online.

I wrote down what we will be having on what day.

July 20-26

Sunday: Crock Pot Frito Pie (new)
Friday: LEFT OVERS, PIZZA or what ever (I'm not cooking)

We ended up having enough left overs after each meal last week to eat for lunch the next day.
I ended up going to the store, but only bought what was on the list.
(Yeah for me!!)

Weekly Meal Plan - Week 1...

Life is hectic and I'm tired of spending a fortune at the store.
So I'm going to give meal planning a try.

This week I spent one evening after everyone went to bed searching my Pinterest boards for recipes.
I created a board called Meal Planning - {Picked Recipes} to toss the recipes I'm planning on using in.
So I won't have to search for them later.
Some used before.
Some new.

I printed out a weekly meal planner sheet I found online.

I wrote down what we will be having on what day.

July 13-19

Tuesday: Crock Pot Salsa Chicken (used)
Friday: LEFT OVERS, PIZZA or what ever (I'm not cooking)
Saturday: Spaghetti

Then I made a shopping list of all the items that will be needed from the store.
Along with a few essentials like milk, juice, salad, eggs and bacon.
Now the best part I'm going to send my husband Mike to the store with the list to buy the items.
He never buys anything extra..
Unlike me who grabs ice cream, cookies and anything else that catches my fancy.
We'll be saving a bundle with me not shopping.
But I'll have to remember to state how many milks and juice to buy
or I'll only get one.

If it turns out there are more left overs then just for lunch the next day then I'll move
recipes to the next week and eat the left overs a couple nights a week.

My plan is to make up the next weeks plan on Wednesday or Thursday.
This way Mike can shop on his day off for supplies.
I'll also be able to see what meats are on sale at the store.
I figure after a couple of months I'll have a good list of recipes we LIKE and can just rotate them around.
I hate cooking so I want it to be quick and pain free.

My Project Life Weeks 18-19...

My husband Mike watched the grand kids so,
I was able to spend an afternoon working on my Project Life pages.
So I'm not as far behind.

Use a couple of cards from a Project Life kit.
Still love doing most of the photos in templates and just printing them out.
But the pattern paper adds some color and character.

The sun arrived so we are spending lots of time in the backyard playing.

I'm still 2 months behind,
but am trying not to worry about it too much.
I'll get caught up sooner or later.

Blanket Start Over...

I've taken up knitting after reading a post over on Kellie's blog Give a Girl a Blog.
Thought I would give it a try.
It can't be that hard right?

Anyways I managed to do 5 sections of the blanket and couldn't figure out why it was curling up at the edges.
So went back to the Martha Stewart post
to see what in the h*** I was dong wrong and if anyone else had problems.
Yes I'm an idiot and don't know how to read directions.
I was doing the stockinette stitch instead of the garter stitch.
In all my excitement and research I must have confused the stitch I was suppose to use.

Well at this point I thought about giving up and starting a whole new project,
but no I said I would finish this one before starting a new one.
So onward I go.
Yes I feel like a ding dong, but I will prevail!!
