Lexie Elise...

Grand daughter number 2 made her appearance July 2nd at 3:51pm.
6lb. 7oz.

It was a long week, but Mommy (Emily) and Lexie finally got to go home from the hospital today.
Mommy was ready for her own bed and peace and quiet.
At least her own bed is possible.
Peace and quiet probably not.
She better nap when Lexie is napping.

Stamps...

Fun Ways to Use Rubber Stamps

Rubber stamps are the perfect tool for enhancing your artwork. They are popular for their versatility and their ability to be used nearly anywhere. Stamps can also be embellished in a number of ways. Most art suppliers offer a wide variety of rubber stamps of different shapes and sizes with handy shapes, text, and images. If you’re an art student or aspiring artist, consider art college as a way to channel your creative focus and make a career out of your passion.

Cards

Stamps are commonly used to enrich birthday cards, graduation cards, wedding cards, anniversary cards, get well cards, and thank you cards. Specialized stamps are always around for any and all of the holidays, and they’re not limited to Christmas and Valentine’s Day—surprise your friends and loved ones with stamped cards for Thanksgiving, Easter, the fourth of July, or Hanukah.
Whenever you use rubber stamps, remember to use a hard, flat, stable surface like a table. Be sure to remove dust and particles off of the rubber with a sponge or stamp cleaner to ensure a clean mark. Also, when you stamp, use your fingers to apply firm, even pressure to the stamp without rocking it in order to avoid a blurry image, and make sure your stamp is well inked!

Scrapbooks

Use rubber stamps in your scrapbook! Most professional scrapbook makers use rubber stamps for their creations, and it’s easy to see why. There will always be a stamp related to the subject on a page, or even an aspect of the topic. You can even get stamps with days and months to commemorate the dates of your memories instead of writing them in. Rubber stamps will provide a delightful contrast to photographs, cutouts, and the other media on the page.
You can also switch things up and make a pattern by forming a series of stamps on a page (this works for cards, too).

Rubber Stamp Ideas

Lost for inspiration? Craft Blogs provides links to art pages with categories including decoration, patterns, and srapbooking.
If you’re comfortable with rubber stamps or an advanced user, The Stampin’ Place offers basic tips for rubber stamps, techniques including heat embossing, coloring, and embellishing stamps, 3-D, stained glass, and background methods, tri-card ideas and advice about stamping on multiple media. The site gives clear directions and helpful guidelines for each of the listed techniques.

Hubby Manning the Booth...

We spent Saturday up in Florence at a crop. It was really fun.
My husband got a new job the day before in Coos Bay and had to work from 2:45pm - 11:15pm....
He got up at 5am and drove me there and set up at 8am, stayed until 1 then went to work and then drove back up to pick me up.
Thanks Honey your the BEST!!

Needless to say we left everything in the trailer until the next day.
I remember when staying up all night wasn't a problem, but boy I was wiped out.
I'm still recovering today.

I'm definitely coming up with a better way to inventory everything the next day.
It took all day Sunday and it's not that fun.
Not like coloring or cutting out kits.
Or shopping!

Have a fabulous day!

Taking a Nap...

My husband just came sneaking up stairs and told me to grab my camera and be quite.. This is what we found..

This is my oldest daughter Ashley and Adikia having a nap in the chair by the front window. I guess it was a hard day at the gas station. A sleep before 8... They look so peaceful when they're sleeping even at 24...

Fun Game...

Zoe over at Make It Cafty is playing a game. Looks like fun so thought I would join in and play. Have no idea what any of those saying mean.. So I'm going to make mine up. Who knows maybe I'll get a couple right.

Here's her post:

Happy Australia Day to my fellow Aussies!
I have been thinking about how to celebrate this day with all my friends from around the world and after a number of ideas were tossed out the window I finally thought up a hair brain idea that could be a bit of fun!
As some of you may know, us Aussies have quite a way with words. From an outsiders view we may seem a little lazy in the way we can’t really be bothered finishing words correctly.
Instead of saying “Lipstick’ we say ‘Lippy’, instead of saying “Barbecue”, we’ll throw it on the “Barbie”! Not only do we like to shorten words, our pioneers (from shearers, drovers and swagman many years ago)  have coined some ridiculously funny and most often very colourful phrases and words, many of which are still in use today!
So I thought it could be a little bit of fun to share some of our ‘slang’ with you today and play a game!
I have picked out a few words and phrases to share with you, which has been quite difficult as there are so many great ones (plus I tried hard to leave out the very colourful terms… heehee). Glance over them, and then read on for the details of how to play the game!
1. You little Ripper        1) Me: Paper Crafter who like's Paper Tearing...
2. Well I’ll be buggered!          2)  Me: Amazing...
3. Crikey                      3) Me: Holy Shit...
4. Fair dinkum                 4) Me: Very small donut...
5. On a good wicket        5) Me: On a Good Day (like a day off from work)...
6. Make a proper galah of yourself      6) Me: Make a fool of yourself...
7. She’ll be apples   7) Me: No idea hopefully it involves me getting Apple Pie...
8. Ridgie Didge         8) Me: The place I want to put ugly projects...
9. Buggerlugs     9) Me: Someone who helps carry my craft purchases home...
10. Give it a burl             10) Me: Give it a try...
11. Bob’s yer uncle        11) Me: I don't have a Bob?..
12. Go like the clappers    12) Me: Run as fast as you can to the craft store.
13. Ningnong        13) Me: Shit I missed the sale at the craft store....
14. Good Onya!   14) Me: Good day I made it to the sale at the craft store..
15. Rough end of the stick    15) Me: Something my EX-husband deserves a few times..

So what’s the game?
Well, I am hoping you had a chuckle and thought, “What on earth do these mean?”
That’s what I want you to tell me!
  1. Pick one or two or all of them if you are having fun, and make up your own dictionary meaning for them.
You can of course use google to find out what they do mean, and that may help you get a little more creative but I do think it would be even funnier if you made up your own meanings without knowing the ‘Aussie meaning’ first. heehee
  2. Create a post on your blog (you can add it within a post you will already be writing if you like) and share your Aussie Slang interpretation.
  3. Make sure you link back to this post so that others can come play too (plus, it will help to explain what you are up to!)
  4. Then come back here and add a link to your post in the linky below so we can all come on over for a laugh or two!
You don’t have to be funny or creative to join in! Just share with us your interpretation of the phrase or word!
There will be Winners of course!!
A random winner will be drawn who will receive a $50 voucher to spend on any of theMake it Crafty brand products.
And I will also be selecting a few that have me in stitches to win some random prizes of my choice!
You can enter up to THREE times. BUT each entry must be on a new post and use different words or phrases from the selection above.
Entries will close February 26th and I will announce the winners along with the ‘actual’ Aussie meanings shortly after.
And of course Aussies can enter too!
I hope you will join me for a few laughs to celebrate Australia Day with the good old Aussie Spirit of cheer and fun!
And I wouldn’t be a True Blue Aussie if I didn’t finish off with:
Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi!!

Ok my answers are silly, but it was fun. Maybe you can play along too. Go check it out.

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #48...

Hey everyone. Hope your all having a fabulous day. Today is a new challenge over at the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog. This weeks challenge is " Celebrate Birthday's with a Sassy Girl Image". The DT have all made super awesome creations to share with you. Alas I have no card today, but I hope you'll still join the challenge.

I've been having computer issues for a while now. The stupid thing just crashes when ever it feels like. Usually when I'm in the middle of something. Well Saturday was the last of my patience so I went out and bought a new computer. Who knew it would be so hard to get everything back the way it was before. The operating system is an upgrade so half the stuff it doesn't want to open. Lucky for me I've been through this all before so I'm a firm believer in having a back up. It's just getting everything back up and running like before. My poor husband has spent the last three days putting everything back to sort of normal. Getting the programs running. Tonight I came home all excited to print out my image and color it real fast to it won't print. More setting to a just... I did get it printed finally. But I won't have time to color it and put it together tonight. But I'll try and get it finished up and posted some day this week... I'll be back!!

Product Review Coming Soon...

The kind souls at CSN Stores have offered me the chance to review a great product available on their site!  CSN sells everything under the sun. Where else can you find Bathroom Shelving, a bunch of really cool tables, or a cute lamp to go on it.

I found this interesting bathroom shelf while browsing. It looks like it holds a bunch of stuff. It would look great in my scrap room, but alas I have no more room...

I will be browsing the many item available for purchase at CSN. Wow is it going to be hard to decide on something to review, but hey who can turn down a chance for $100 credit towards one of their great products.

What would you get with $100 from CSN?

WOYWW....

What's on Your Workspace Wednesday?? I've seen this a few time's while blog hopping and Deb over at Crafty Card-I Higgins was sharing hers today so I thought I'd take a picture of my space today.

Here is my work counter where I assemble my cards. Not to bad most of that stuff usually sits there. I could pick up some..... It's mostly my new distressing stuff. Evidentially Tim Holtz no longer makes those awesome storage containers(to expensive) so I have to figure out what to do with my new ink pads. I really like the little box I have the others in

Then there is my cutter... look at that pile of scraps and punches I need to put away, but you know the minute one of those flower punches gets put in the drawer I'll just be pulling it right back out..

I'd love to see you space if you participated to leave me a comment so I can go visit..
