Scrapmagasinet Reader Challenge #1.....

Today is the first Reader Challenge over at the Scrapmagasinet DT Blog.

The Challenge is to make a card using the following....RULES:

• Not a standard size 4.25 x 5.50
• Not square
• It also has to include the colors Red & Orange
• You must use a Scrapmagasinet Stamp
• You must post a comment on the DT blog with a link to your creation
• You have until 8-2-08 to complete and the winners will be announced 8-5-08

So be creative and so what you can come up with. The DT has made some cute cards so head over and check them out.

Bonnet Bunny....

This week's challenge at Penny Black Saturday is Snow Much Fun. Well I don't own one PB Christmas/snow stamp. I refuse to even look in the Christmas catalogs. I decided I wouldn't use the Christmas stamps enough to justify buy a bunch. And I don't even have to look to know there would be a bunch to get. I'd rather get ones you can use all the time. (Plus I already picked out my Christmas card stamp for this year)

So I thought I could make this a Christmas card and just add snow at the bottom or something. So I started with my stamp of course and then picked out the pattern paper (it's My Minds Eye: Festive Signature Christmas line) I should be able to make it Christmas like right? Wrong who was I kidding that cute rabbit screams Spring!! So no card for the challenge this week. Oh well I think the card turned out adorable.

I've also discovered I really like the look of the circle stamps but don't have that many. Well this one is a brush I picked up at Designer Digitals. You can size it to the size circle you want and print out how ever many you want. How cool is that? And you know the best put it doesn't take up any room. It's stored on my computer. Even better I thought. Oh and they have a bunch to choose from. Brushes are super!

Also Katharina is starting her own stamp company Whiff of Joy (coming soon). How exciting is that!!! She's had a couple of previews on her blog and they are super cute!! She also has Elisabeth Bell as one of her designers and you know I LOVE her stuff. So I'll be heading to the new store a lot I'm sure. So anyways she's having a Guest Designer call. All you have to do is use the sketch she has provided (I have used it on the card here). So head over and check it out.

Now for my card today. This is Maxit Linedance and his trusty pet sheep. I also use the fence in the Rakle collection. I first stamped the fence and then masked it and stamped the sheep. I wanted you to see his face so I made him peak out from the fence a bit. Then I added Maxit after I cute him out on some pop dots. I could have stamped him first and then masked him to add the fence and sheep but that was just to much work for me. I was feeling lazy. Plus this way I could cut everything down a bit and make it fit on my 5 x 7 card. Nothing to fancy but....Perfect!

Hanglar.....

Isn't he cute. This one of my new Hanglar stamps. Soon these will be available at Funky Kits. I can't wait. Speaking of Funky Kits they have the new Sweet Ebony & Honey & Pip stamps for sale today. I was already over there getting mine.

I decided I wanted to practice coloring with my Copic's and he was the victim. I need more practice!! and more colors!! But he turned out ok.

The challenge over at A Spoon Full of Sugar this week is "One for the Boys" So I used a boy image and blue. That's pretty boyish??

Heather's Challenge #1....

Yesterday was a Happy mail day. I received my DT package from Lisbet at Scrapmagasinet. She sent some really cute stamps to play with. As you know Krilla is my favorite. I just love her. She's not a size 2 like me. So of course I couldn't wait to stamp Krilla Linedance and have some fun. I went to my friend Sue's last night and played in her stamp room until midnight. My how time flies when your having fun.



I thought I'd try making my own sketch to share. I'm in charge of challenges over at our DT Blog so I thought I'd better practice a little. So this is what I came up with.


But then I thought lets make it more fun by making it a challenge.... And having a prize!! I love prizes. Lisbet has kindly sent a couple of extra stamps in my package to give away. So for this challenge I have picked Rakle. I think she's really cute. I'll also include some stamped images of the stamps I just received and the card I made.

What you have to do:

• Make a card using my sketch. I would like you to use a Scrapmagasinet stamp but if you don't have any you can use something you have available.
• Post a comment on this post with a link to your wonderful creation.
• Post a link to my blog telling everybody about the challenge when you post your creation on your blog.

I'm still totally in love with the Sweet Ebony line by Elisabeth Bell. It is so cute!! This is the latest one Sweet n' Sassy. Sugar Nellie has had a few sneak peeks this week on the new stamps coming out. Oh MY!! They are a most have for me. So hopefully they won't make us wait too much longer.
