New Cards...

Here are the cards I made up using the wonderful images Flossie sent me. She made the cutest card for her nephew Frankie's birthday. I really liked the puppy so she stamped me some up and sent them off for me. Wasn't that great of her!! I love how they turned out. Super Cute!

I finally got started on the quilt my friend Gail wants me to make for one of her new nieces. I picked out all the fabric yesterday and cut it all out. I've even started sewing it together. I'll post a picture later so you can see how it's going. So I'm off to eat breakfast and work on the quilt today.
Have a great day!

Halloween Star Album

This is my weekend project using some files by Chris Durnan. She does awesome work! I think it turned out pretty cute. I think I'll make a bigger one now though. Now that I know how to make it. I also made a couple of cards I'll share with you later.

Also I want to thank Wendy for Paying It Forward... I'll get your card and images out to you, hopefully tomorrow.

I'm going to try and make up a cutter file this weekend also, any suggestions?

Halloween Card

Here's one of the cards I worked on this last weekend. I got the idea over at Diane blog My Little Stampin' Spot she has a cute Christmas card and a tutorial! I only made 2 but I really like it so I think I'll make up a couple more to send out.
I used: Stamps SU- Haunting Halloween (On sale this month) and Canvas (I really like those big background stamps)
Ink SU- Basic Black &Lavender Lace
I used misc patterned paper, snaps, photo hanger, ribbon, ticket punch, corner slot punch, circle punch and various markers to color it ( I still want to get some copic's to try).
I like how the saying pulls out for you to read. Very cute.
Thanks for the inspiration Diane!

I worked on a couple of other things to that I'll show you later.
I also still need someone to Pay It Forward with a card and some stamped images.. I really liked the cute stuff Lorrie sent me. If you would like to Pay It Forward send me an email and I'll send you this card and some cute stamped images to use on your own stuff.

Until Later,
Heather :)
P.S. Sue what do you think?

In Memory of...

Today was not a good day... My friend Rhonda's sweet mother Joyce passed away last Thursday. She lived 2 extra years with cancer and finally gave in. Today was her funeral. She was a kind, gentle, caring, funny lady. Who always had a hug for you. She always looked great with that bright red lipstick. I just can't imagine her going out with her hair not done up. And that southern drawl I'm going to miss that. I can still hear her saying "don't you know?" with that southern twang. She will be greatly missed......
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit with in me. Psalm 51:10

I saw this on Lorrietori's blog. Help me keep this going. I will send the first person to respond to this post in the comments section a card and some stamped images to use. The only catch is YOU are the one I'm Paying it Forward to, you must post this on your blog and keep it going. Cool, huh!! So hurry and be the first one!! It is super fun to receive a surprise in the mail. I love that!!

Here's the great card I received today. Don't you just love that flower. Thank you Lorrie!! She also sent some really cute stamped images I don't have. I'll post those when I get them made up.

I Love to Read...

This is my latest book. Tess is one of my favorite authors. The book is about Julie who buys a new house and discovers a grave in her new yard. She has to figure out who the bones belonged to. Then along comes her neighbor Tom who is the nephew of Henry who owns the mysterious newspaper clippings...
You get to travel back in time to meet Rose who is trying to save her niece Meggie from uncertain harm. And there's the cute doctor Norris who's struggling to make it up higher in life from being a low lie farmer to a prominent doctor.
Oh and did I mention the grim reaper.......
It's a great read. It took me less then a week to finish it. So if your a fan of Tess definitely go pick it up. And if you haven't tried out any of her stuff yet this might be the time.
Until later...

Husband Has Time Off...

Today we went to get a new bathroom shower enclosure. Not very exciting, but while we were there I was like can't we get a new sink? ( the one in there now is cracked) Well then you have to get a new pretty faucet. And we are going to be putting in that garden tub so shouldn't we get a matching faucet for that too. Just in case by the time we get around to it they don't have the matching one.
Oh and your going to be puting in the pantry so we should get the doors for that.
Oh and your going to need to clean and stain the deck. Oh look at all the choices of colors!!
And the lawn still needs seeded. You promised I could have a lawn that looks like a football field.
My husband has Saturday - Wednesday off to do honey do chores... I don't think he knew what he was getting him self into. He's going to have to get up early... So much for vacation days....
I'm kind of feeling sorry for him... NOT!!
Until later...

I'm a Slacker!!

Yep it's true. I'm a slacker. I just couldn't get up this morning. My dog cupid kept me up half the night wanting drinks of water. He can't get off the bed by himself he's blind. And then he had to go outside to potty. My husband forgot to give him his insulin shot last night and this happens every time he does. So when the alarm went off I was like no way... I did manage to sleep until 4:30 when my husband decided to get up and turn on the light.. AAAHHHHH!!! So I got up and man do I have a head ache, but I think my aspirin is starting to kick in.
I did go over to Sticky Stuff and order me some vinyl so I can make some wall art! It was hard choosing some colors. So I just got a bunch.
Todays my brothers birthday so I have to go buy him a present. Nothing like waiting until the last minute. We are suppose to go to his house tonight for a BBQ. Maybe I'll try and leave work early so I can go shop.. Or it's a movie rental gift card for him... Oh I still need to make him a card.. Man!! I need more time in the day...
Until later...
Have a great day!!

Getting Up Early...

I forgot how hard it is to get up early.. Last January I decided to join the gym. I got up faithfully every morning at 3:30 and spent an 1 1/2 there. I lost 20 pounds!! Well June rolled around and there was nobody there in the morning any more and it was really hot in there. How can it be that hot at 3:30am? So before you know it I wasn't going any more. Well it's now September and it's cooling down so this morning I decided it was time to hit the gym. I drug out of bed at 3:30 and spent 30 minutes walking on the treadmill. I forgot how much your legs can itch! It was only 30 minutes for heavens sake. So now the hard part of going every morning for the next 2 weeks until it becomes a habit again. So I'm off to bed.. I know tonight I'll go right to sleep unlike last night where I was up until 11 pm tossing and turning.

Here's to another 20 pounds!!!!

Until later...

Going to Town...

My husband wants to go to the big city. He needs a part for the shower (I think we need a whole new shower). So that means we get to go to Roseburg and shop!! Yippie they have a Michael's and a scrapbook store there. I can feel all the bags now.
Need to get list:
1. Stuff to make shelves
2. Halloween supplies for a swap I joined
3. Markers for coloring stamped images (some Copics would be nice, so I can try them)
4. Stickles
5. Vinyl Cling ( I'd like to make some wall art)
6. CD wall holder - CD boxes (to hold my new TAC stamps)
I got to go to every store I wanted to. The scrapbook store was having a closing sale :( . They are moving to online :). I won't have to wait till I go over there to shop. And I got to have Cold Stone ice cream.. I LOVE Cold Stone!! Mud Pie MoJo for me with vanilla ice cream that's my favorite. Oh and we had pizza. Yummy!!
Shower faucets are expensive!! We didn't get anything to exciting and it was $98, but they had one there that was $650. It just sprays out water right? For $650 it should come with a cute guy to wash you! Like Mr.McDreamy..... Way to expensive for me. That would cut into my scrapbook spending I'm pretty sure. :( We can't have that even if it did come with Mr.McDreamy.
What I Got:
At Scrapbooking 2. Here's there new online store
My Scrapbook Corner . They are still working on it so keep trying back. I got all this at 40% off. Oct 2007 Crating Keepsakes Magazine, 5 Crop Hopper Scrap Storage folders, bone folder,4 packages of eyelets, Deja Views Wonderful Words Rub-Ons and tons of ribbon. Just look at it all. There's a couple of cute one's that will be great for Halloween stuff.
At Staples: I've been looking for some of these for a while. They are suppose to work in my cutter. But I haven't tried them yet. Could be cute!

At Michael's: I scored the new Scrapbook Ect magazine, Traffic Jam embossing template for my Cuttlebug, a StazOn opaque stamp pad, 2 packages of metallic brads, 1 package of decorative brads, 3 stool of ribbon in Fall colors, 2 packages of Halloween stickers, a Passport Book embellishment (my husband pick out), and 2 paint brushes (I'm suppose to be doing a class of water painting for stamping at the local scrapbook store and have know idea how to do it?)

Ok so I didn't get to many Halloween things but it's a start. Right? I can always shop online for more stuff. I'm suppose to send something Halloweenie I made so I'm thinking of decorating a 7 Gypsies album to send? Along with some Halloween stuff and some candy. I let you know how it goes.
Until later....

HELP....I Can't Figure it Out...

Update I figured it out!! Yippie... :)
Ok I'm having a problem with the file size for the GSD. I can't seem to make the words small enough to up load I even tried zipping it. Any suggestions? Just the words by themselves are 12.3 MB I must have not done something to them in WINPC, but I don't know how to fix them. Help would be appreciated if you know what I did wrong. Otherwise I'll try and fix it later this weekend.

I haven't had time for much else as I was watching Grey's Anatomy the last two nights. That Mr. McDreamy is very cute. I've only had a chance to watch the first 4 episodes of season 3 but it's good so far. Tomorrow my honey wants to watch the football game at the school he works at. So I'll probably go with him even though I'm not into sports.. I can always read my book. He loves that (NOT), but I am spending time with him even if I'm not watching.

Also I would really like to get one of these, but I can't decide which one. The yellow one will cut up to 15" across and the white one will do up to 13". Do I really need that extra 2"?? $949 verses $1299?? I just don't know..... Do you have a preference? Maybe I'll dream about the one I should eventually get tonight.

Until Later... Heather :)

My Honey...

This is my honey... I hardly ever get any pictures of him without his tongue out, so this one is special. He's even smiling!
He's enjoying taking pictures on our outing to the zoo. He loves taking pictures. He took twice as many photos as I took. But I captured this one of him. He's probably laughing at me trying to take his picture. But I don't mind.

I haven't had time to make any thing new today I spent to much time checking out everybody else's blogs. They are all so cool with tons of ideas. I love looking at them (probably too much). I did get a bunch of new TAC stamps today though. I'll try and put those together tomorrow and stamp something up with them.

Shae if your reading this could you email me with your address so I can send you something for leaving me a great message about Desperate Stampers Challenge. My email is on the side. Thanks!!

I have to go read some more of my new James Patterson book "You've Been Warned". It's really good!! Thanks for stopping by!

Emily...

This is my youngest Emily. We spent Labor day at the Zoo. She couldn't wait to get to this exhibit. I think it's the whole reason she went. It is a 4 hour drive and we left at 6:30am. But she had such a great time the last time we went and couldn't wait to go back. She was disappointed when we couldn't go the weekend before. So we couldn't let her down again. I didn't think she was going to get one to hop on her hand, but thankfully she did. As you can see she's talking to the little thing and it looks like he's listening. Very cute moment and I actually caught her on film!

Well off to bed, but I want to share what I worked on tonight.

What I Had Time For...

Wow I can't believe the weekend is almost over. It doesn't feel like I got a whole lot done. I definitely need more time in my day.

I did finish up these to cards for the challenge over at Desperate Stamper but I definitely won't be able to keep up. Sara's already on challenge #5. Card making is hard work. I have the hardest time with the idea part. I look at everybody else blogs for ideas and they all look so pretty I don't know how they come up with such great ideas.

This top one is for challenge #1 and the bottom one is for challenge #2 I know they aren't exactly like the sketch but this is the best I could do. Now I just need to find someone to send them too?

Recipe:

Stamps: CTMH - Do Nothing, Paradise SU - Sanded, Rough Texture (wheel)

Ink: SU - Buckaroo Blue, Close to Cocoa

Paper: SU - Buckaroo Blue, Marigold Morning, Cranberry Crisp, Chocolate Chip, Mellow Moss

Other: Silver Brads, Markers, Sizzix - Bookplates Oval & Traditional

I also still need to get everybody to put on there PJ's so I can take a picture of them. Getting everybody together at the same time is a challenge all by itself!!

I think I've also narrowed down my quilt choices for my friends 2 nieces. Now to just pick the fabric and start cutting them out.... Need more time!

I spent this afternoon watching the season finally of Criminal Minds Season 1, luckily season 2 comes out on DVD Oct.2nd. I hate it when they leave you hanging like that. It so sucks! But on a good note Bones and Grey's Anatomy both come out on DVD Tuesday!! Yippie. That will shorten up my play time I have to watch those as soon as I get them.

I'm heading to a birthday dinner tonight for my mom at 6. She decided she didn't need any more things to dust and we could all just get together for dinner. Fun! Maybe I'll take her a packet of those heartfelt cards I made the other day. She doesn't have to dust those.

So until later..

Sunny Days

Mexico October 2007. We had a blast, but it was super hot for us Oregonians. These pictures were taken before 9 am. I loved laying by the pool. Something I never thought I'd like.

I'm hoping to start my friends quilts this weekend and work on a few other things to share. Maybe even go on a photo taking adventure. I really want to participate in a few card sketch challenges this weekend to, but we'll see.

Do you have any files you'd like me to try and make? Let me know.

Until later... Have a great day!

Where Did the Time Go??

I don't know what happened to the weekend. It just flew by. We did get to get out of town on Monday. Me my husband Mike and my youngest daughter Emily went to the Zoo. We had a super time, but it was a long day. We got up at 4:30 to head out. It's a 4 hour drive for us to get there. But it was the last day of the butterfly exhibit. I wanted to see that. They were so pretty. I'm hoping I'll have time tonight to take the pictures off the camera.

One of my favorite authors has a new book coming out Sept. 10th. I can hardly wait!! I have it on hold at the local library. It going to be hard to wait that long. I hope I'm not to far down on the list to wait. Maybe I'm one of the first ones to get it. I'm not good at waiting.

I did get a chance to make up a new packet of cards on Sunday. I'll try and take a picture tonight after work so I can share those. Well better get ready for work. Until later...

Have a great day! Heather :)

I Must RAK Someone....

I was visiting Julesiana's Blog Stampin with Sticky Fingers and she's having a blog candy challenge. Which works out great for me because I remember a lady I work with was commenting awhile back about how she had run out of the cards I had made for a contest we had at work. She won the basket of goodies! Well during my cleaning spree last weekend I just happened to come across a couple of boxes of cards I had made and not given away.. I forgot about them. There are 7 cards and a gift card all in this cute box. She really liked them!

I also found these cute little puppy dog ones. I gave these to my coworker. She loves dogs. Like me :).

I finished up the PJ bottoms!!! Now on to the shirts... Then I need to quilt up 2 twin quilts for my friend I'm making the surprise quilt for. She asked me to make them for her two new nieces. Not knowing I'm going to make her one. Surprise!!

I'd also like to do a couple of sketch challenges this weekend and work on my Mexico photo album. I better get busy....

Have a great day..

Heather :)
