New Template...

Please excuse the mess. I wanted to change to a 3 column template. And it didn't go the way I wanted. So Now I have to put things back on....

The Dryer Is Broken....

Oh goodie.... The dryer bit the big one. Now what?
Well I was complaining about it being broken at my daughter Emily's Birthday
(Happy 19) dinner Saturday night. And my awesome brother was listening (he works at a furniture store) and told me they had just repossessed one that was 2 months old. Would I be interested?? Mind you I went and looked at new ones with my sister Friday. The cheapest I could find for a front loader was $700. Oh my god it's going to cost me $1400 for a new set. I know I've had mine for 15 plus years, but don't those things last forever?? Well I guess not.. So my kind brother told me today that they have a matching washer at his store to go with the dryer, but it's new. So he's checking the price for me and getting authorization for him to buy it at his employee cost. Which will be cheaper then $1400. But it's still going to set me back a good penny..... I guess I'll be on a stamp diet for a bit, but will be able to do laundry at home. Maybe with the new washer I'll save some money on the water bill!!! They are both suppose to be Energy Efficient. We'll see!!
We are still working on our wood pile too, but can actually park in the drive way now. Needless to say I had no time to make anything this weekend... Thank goodness I have Wednesday -Sunday off. Maybe I'll be able to do some crafting.
So have a great day!!!

I only managed to use 2 challenges on this one. Don't you just love that Penny Black image? Thank you Annie for sending it to me. It's super cute. I've added it to my wish list for HM Stamps.

I started out with the gorgeous paper by Daisy D then colored my image to match. I think it turned out pretty good. I may have to stop by my local scrap store tonight after work and pick up some more of that paper. Maybe not if I go in there I'll be getting more then paper. I have to stay away..... Oh I also used my corner rounder to make the scallops on the espresso paper. I haven't figured out how to make my spellbinder dies do that for me.

First Pop Up Card....

How many of you have actually done a pop up card before?? Not me!! But the challenge #24 over at Ismaki this week is to make a pop up card. So I thought I'd try it. I already had the images colored so why not. And anything is better then putting away wood.....

It was kind of fun after I figured out how to do the pop up thing. When I got all finished I had this huge green area in the front that I hated so I had to go back and see what the DT had done to there cards. Which actually ended up better because I cute it down some and added the blue card stock as the base.
And it gave me a chance to use that cute tree house stamp Tretoppen from my DT package. I took a picture of Rakle Sitter as a close up so you

can kind of see the pop up thing. And I like how I folded her in half so it looks like she's sitting on the ground. May be she's waiting for a friend to come over and play in the tree house stamp room or to have lunch??

Now what to put on the outside??? I'll leave that

for later. Right now it looks cute sitting up on my counter top. Well have a great weekend!! I'm off to play some more.

  • Stamps: Scrapmagasinet -Rakle Sitter & Tretoppen, Eureka - Laughing Sun & 815D Flower Border
  • Paper: Misc out of my stash??
  • Misc: Ribbon, Prima Flowers, Pearls, Prisma Pencils, Gamsol, SU-Markers, Pop Dots

P.S. After the fact I found a tutorial/video by Lilly Gershon on how to do a pop up card. She makes it look so easy. Wish I had found it before I started. Oh well next time will be easier.

Scrapmagasinet Blog Candy....

This is Spokelse i hull one of the stamps that came in my great package from Lisbet this week. I actually had this one on my wish list. Isn't he cute?
I used the sketch from this week Friday Sketcher challenge #6 and The Cute Card Thursday challenge to use 3 embellishments #14. It went together pretty fast for a change. Maybe because I cleaned up my stamp area so it doesn't look like a tornado hit it.
On another note Nicole (also is giving away blog candy) should have the Scrapmagasinet DT Blog up and running soon and we'll be posting some challenges on there for everyone to do and win some prizes. But you'll need some Scrapmagasinet images so on to the blog candy....
Blog Candy: I thought I'd give away various Scrapmagasinet images for you to play with. I will decide which ones to send you. All you have to do is visit the Scrapmagasinet store and leave me a comment on this post telling me your favorite stamp from the Stampville Collection and post a link to here on your blog. It's that easy and you could be the winner. You have until Friday 6-20-08 to do this and I will post the winner Saturday 6-20-08 when I get up and moving. So head to the store and check it out and don't forget the preorder section Lisbet has added a bunch of new stuff there. I'm going to be adding to my wish list for sure.

It's Big....

Well I decided I was going to try and make a scene card. So I grabbed a piece of card stock and started stamping. Well you should definitely cut your card stock to the size you want it first. At least I should. I got it all colored and started to make my card and it was to big.... The card base is 6 x 6 I didn't want it any bigger then that. So I had to trim my image down enough to fit on the card base. I ended up trim some of the stamped parts off. But there still wasn't room for any embellishments. Oh well I still think Krilla looks pretty good sitting on the bench with her cat close by. And I did do a great job masking everything off. I'll start out differently next time.

  • Stamps: Scrapmagasinet - Krilla Sitting & Cat, Magnolia - Bench & Winter Tree
  • Misc: Prisma Pencils, Gamsol, CTMH - Dark Green Card Stock

This stamp From Eat Cake Graphics: Auntie Daisy enjoys Freedom just said pick me while I was organizing this weekend. It's just so fun. I used the Ismaki sketch #22 for this one. It always seems I'm a day late for posting for that challenge. Oh well!! I printed the saying out on my printer. On the inside it says Frolic in the Flowers Because your RETIRED!!
Donalda is giving away some blog candy over at Enjoy the Journey. It's a wonderful assortment of die cuts from Debbie's Die Cuts. So head over there and check it out.

I received a bunch of stamps in the mail Saturday from Lisbet so I'll be working on a few things to share from that. I've also been put in charge of challenges over at the new Scrapmagasinet DT Blog. It's still under construction at the moment. But I'll let you know when it's ready. I can tell Lisbet has ok'ed some great prizes. Si get out your Srapmagasinet stamps and color some up for the up coming challenges.
I finally used my Prisma Markers!! I spent Saturday night making up a spread sheet to put them on. It's a lot easier for me to pick a color if I have it there on paper already. I'm not to sure how I like my coloring job. I need to practice more. And I still think I like my Copics better they just have more colors to pick from to blend together. But I have all the Prisma one my dear husband got me for Christmas so thought I should use them. I'll practice some more.

Totally Cased.....

Ok this one I totally cased... But I loved Sandra's card. It's so Pretty!!! She did such a great job I just had to borrow it for my own. Thank you Sandra. Your blog Rocks!!!
On this one I used Rakle Sitter from Scrapmagasinet and the bird is from the Magnolia collection, but I got it from a friend in a swap. I colored both with my Prisma pencils and Gamsol. Then I cut them both out. The paper is from the Magnolia line that I picked up over at my local scrapbook store on national scrap day. They where having a great sale. I can't remember which stamp set I got the sentiment out of?? I need to remember to make a list of the things I use. But I just get so in to making it that I just grab stuff and forget... I'll try harder. Oh I almost forgot this is my card for the challenge over at Cute Card Thursday.
I have to admit we didn't put away much wood this weekend. I'm just not very motivated. After working my part time job yesterday I just didn't feel like getting all dirty putting away wood. But we did put away some. But we have a long ways to go. Oh well there's always after work this week.....Maybe :o)
Well I'm off to check out some challenges and see what I can make this week. I hope your having a great weekend.
