Tilda with Star Dress....

Hey everyone I'm having an exciting week. I had to take hubby to the hospital last night to have his appendix removed. Poor guy first his gallbladder and now this. He made it through alright and is now home resting on the couch. No honey do list for him this weekend.

I thought I would whip up a Fourth of July card. I haven't used this cute new Tilda yet. So thought why not. I don't usually make July 4th cards. Now I will have to find someone to give it too... hummmmm.

I colored her with the following Copic's:

  • Skin: E21, E00, E000
  • Cheeks: R20, R30
  • Hair: E47, E44, E43, E42
  • Dress/Shoes: B95, B93, B91, 0
  • Sleeves: C1, C00, 0
  • Hair Bows: B37, B35
  • Flag Pole: E44, E43
  • Flag: W3, W1, W00, 0
Ok I better go check on honey and then work on my water coloring project for my class next Thursday.
Have a fabulous day! Thanks for stopping by.

Marlene's Attitude...

I seen this cute new image over at Sassy Cheryl's and have to have it. Plus all proceeds from the sales of Marlene's Attitude will go directly to Loves Healing Hands-Lungs 4 Life Charity. There is also a colored image available. It's a great cause so I wanted to use it right away.

I again dug around in my scrap box to use some of that up. I'm trying to keep it under control some. It works out pretty good that it's sitting out in plain view. Kind of a nagging reminder. Hope your all having a great Monday. Thanks for stopping by. Have a Fabulous day!!

Copic Marker Journal..

Hey Londa look it not a book I finished... :O)
I know get off the sunny porch, stop reading that book and into the house and start coloring and making up kits....;O)

Happy Saturday everybody! Hope you have a fabulous weekend!! I made this Copic Marker Journal for one of my classes next month.  I used a cute Stampavie image called Looking at You. The inside has places to write which markers you already have, color families, custom colors, favorite color combos & favorite skin & hair colors. I found the download for the pages over at Copic Munkie.

This is actually my second journal. I'm still working on the first one. I wanted to decorate all the dividers on the inside. Then decided that was to much to do in a workshop, so had to start over. I'll share the original when I'm done playing with it. I have 3 more dividers to color and decorate. But I think this one turned out really cute too. I don't know what I'll do with two. Maybe I'll have a candy when I'm finished using this one in class. We'll see....

Thanks for stopping by. Hope your having a great day..

The Peach Keeper...

Hey everyone. Happy Friday!!

I just got done reading The Peach Keeper by Sarah Addison. It's a great story. I loved all the superstitions and fog in a bottle. It's a great story about friendship and staying that way for a life time. I think I'll go check some of her other books. Now I'm going to read the second book in the Vampire Academy series Frostbite.

         Product Description

The New York Times bestselling author of The Girl Who Chased the Moon welcomes you to her newest locale: Walls of Water, North Carolina, where the secrets are thicker than the fog from the town’s famous waterfalls, and the stuff of superstition is just as real as you want it to be.

It’s the dubious distinction of thirty-year-old Willa Jackson to hail from a fine old Southern family of means that met with financial ruin generations ago. The Blue Ridge Madam—built by Willa’s great-great-grandfather during Walls of Water’s heyday, and once the town’s grandest home—has stood for years as a lonely monument to misfortune and scandal. And Willa herself has long strived to build a life beyond the brooding Jackson family shadow. No easy task in a town shaped by years of tradition and the well-marked boundaries of the haves and have-nots.

But Willa has lately learned that an old classmate—socialite do-gooder Paxton Osgood—of the very prominent Osgood family, has restored the Blue Ridge Madam to her former glory, with plans to open a top-flight inn. Maybe, at last, the troubled past can be laid to rest while something new and wonderful rises from its ashes. But what rises instead is a skeleton, found buried beneath the property’s lone peach tree, and certain to drag up dire consequences along with it.

For the bones—those of charismatic traveling salesman Tucker Devlin, who worked his dark charms on Walls of Water seventy-five years ago—are not all that lay hidden out of sight and mind. Long-kept secrets surrounding the troubling remains have also come to light, seemingly heralded by a spate of sudden strange occurrences throughout the town.

Now, thrust together in an unlikely friendship, united by a full-blooded mystery, Willa and Paxton must confront the dangerous passions and tragic betrayals that once bound their families—and uncover truths of the long-dead that have transcended time and defied the grave to touch the hearts and souls of the living.

Resonant with insight into the deep and lasting power of friendship, love, and tradition, The Peach Keeper is a portrait of the unshakable bonds that—in good times and bad, from one generation to the next—endure forever.

Giant Clothes Pins..

Hello everyone. Hope your having a great Wednesday! I found these giant clothes pins down at my local scrapbook store Memories of Time. They've been there for a while so I thought I would give them a new home.
I painted them and then sanded them down a bit. To distress them some. Then I added some left over paper & a couple of the images I colored during class from my bag book project. Then of course I had to break out the Magnolia DooHickey dies to glam them up.

Now to get hubby to hang them up and string a piece of wire in between so I can hang stuff in between them. They turned out really cute.

I just finished reading Room by Emma Donoghue. It was different and sad. It's about a girl who gets kidnapped at 19 and locked in a garden shed until she's 27. She has Jack who tells the story 2 years into the ordeal. The story is about how she made it possible for them to survive in ROOM for 5 years. Their escape and how a 5 year old learns there more outside. It was very good. I highly recommend reading it. I'm now reading The Peach Keeper by Sarah Addison. I will be done with that today so I'll tell you about it tomorrow.

       Amazon.com Review

Amazon Best of the Month, September 2010: In many ways, Jack is a typical 5-year-old. He likes to read books, watch TV, and play games with his Ma. But Jack is different in a big way--he has lived his entire life in a single room, sharing the tiny space with only his mother and an unnerving nighttime visitor known as Old Nick. For Jack, Room is the only world he knows, but for Ma, it is a prison in which she has tried to craft a normal life for her son. When their insular world suddenly expands beyond the confines of their four walls, the consequences are piercing and extraordinary. Despite its profoundly disturbing premise, Emma Donoghue's Room is rife with moments of hope and beauty, and the dogged determination to live, even in the most desolate circumstances. A stunning and original novel of survival in captivity, readers who enter Room will leave staggered, as though, like Jack, they are seeing the world for the very first time. --Lynette Mong

As You Wish...

I've finished reading the 2nd book by Gabi Stevens: As You Wish.. It was a cute reading regarding the fairy godmother's story. I liked how whimsical the whole thing was. Who doesn't want to believe in fairy godmother's and magical stuff.. I'm now waiting for book 3.. I'm on the Room by Emma Donoghue. Nothing about fairies in this one. It's about a little boy Jack(he's 5) & his mother living in a room. They are prisoner's of some sort, but I haven't gotten that far yet.

   Amazon Description:
Born into a magical family, Reggie Scott is content to live out her life as a normal human until the moment she’s informed that she’s a newly appointed fairy godmother. Left struggling to deal with powers the never thought she’d have, Reggie faces a curse, a plot to overthrow the Arcani, and an entirely too enthusiastic mother—all in a matter of days.

Jonathan Bastion is a man of power and wealth—and a dangerous secret. He desperately hopes that Reggie's new powers will hold the answer to his problem and he isn't above using her to achieve his goals. What he doesn't expect is how much Reggie will affect him. Her honor, her honesty, and her strength quickly make cracks in his ruthless exterior.

As danger from the Arcani swirls around them both, Jonathan realizes that what was once a ploy to get Reggie to assist him has become a battle to keep her safe and protected…in his arms.

Vampire Academy..

I was getting hair done a while back and the girl helping out in the salon seen me reading my Kindle and before you know it we were discussing what we like to read. She said she was currently reading Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. I said I had never heard of her. Did you read Twilight? Well yes.. Not the same author, but like those sort of. Well ok I'll give it a try.

Yep I liked it. Not like Twilight they have different beings hanging out in the same private academy for different beings. They all sort of get along. This is a school after all. So now on to book 2 after I finish reading As You Wish by Gabi Stevens. The second book in the Fairy Godmother books I started in book club. But I have to wait for book 3. I hate that!! Oh well it's not like I don't have books to keep me reading..

  Amazon Review:

After two years on the run, best friends Rose, half-human/half-vampire, and Lissa, a mortal vampire princess, are caught and returned to St. Vladimir's Academy. Up until then, Rose had kept Lissa safe from her enemies; school, however, brings both girls additional challenges and responsibilities. How they handle peer pressure, nasty gossip, new relationships, and anonymous threats may mean life or death. Likable narrator Rose hides doubts about her friend behind a tough exterior; orphan Lissa, while coping with difficult emotional issues such as depression and survivor's guilt, uses her emerging gifts for good. Mead's absorbing, debut YA novel, the first in a new series, blends intricately detailed fantasy with a contemporary setting, teen-relevant issues, and a diverse, if sometimes sterotyped, cast of supporting characters. Occasional steamy sex and a scattering of vulgar language demand mature readers, but teens able to handle the edgy elements will speed through this vamp story and anticipate the next installment. 10th Anniversary..

10th Anniversary by James Patterson is a must read.  I love his books. I can sit up all night to finish one up. This one took me a couple of days. I had other stuff to get done. Plus I got burnt sitting on the deck reading it. I can't belive there have been 10 books in the Women's Murder Club Series. They have all been good reads and I'll be buying the next one. So if your looking for some murder mystery give it a try.

  Amazon Review:

For every secret
Detective Lindsay Boxer's long-awaited wedding celebration becomes a distant memory when she is called to investigate a horrendous crime: a badly injured teenage girl is left for dead, and her newborn baby is nowhere to be found. Lindsay discovers that not only is there no trace of the criminals--but that the victim may be keeping secrets as well.

For every lie

At the same time, Assistant District Attorney Yuki Castellano is prosecuting the biggest case of her life--a woman who has been accused of murdering her husband in front of her two young children. Yuki's career rests on a guilty verdict, so when Lindsay finds evidence that could save the defendant, she is forced to choose. Should she trust her best friend or follow her instinct?

There's a different way to die

Lindsay's every move is watched by her new boss, Lieutenant Jackson Brady, and when the pressure to find the baby begins interfering with her new marriage to Joe, she wonders if she'll ever be able to start a family. With James Patterson's white-hot speed and unquenchable action, 10th Anniversary is the most deliciously chilling Women's Murder Club book ever.

The Lincoln Lawyer..

I just finished reading this book by Michael Connelly. He was a new author for me. I picked it up because it's a movie, but hey I loved it. I'm going to go pick up a few more of his books. It kept me interested and not wanting to put it down. Check out the Amazon Review below for a few details.

      Amazon.com Review

Criminal defense attorney Mickey Haller's father was a legendary lawyer whose clients included gangster Mickey Cohen (in a nice twist, Cohen's gun, given to Dad then bequeathed to his son, plays a key role in the plot). But Dad also passed on an important piece of advice that's especially relevant when Mickey takes the case of a wealthy Los Angeles realtor accused of attempted murder: "The scariest client a lawyer will ever have is an innocent client. Because if you [screw] up and he goes to prison, it'll scar you for life."

Louis Roulet, Mickey's "franchise client" (so-called becaue he's able and willing to pay whatever his defense costs) seems to be the one his father warned him against, as well as being a few rungs higher on the socio-economic ladder than the drug dealers, homeboys, and motorcycle thugs who comprise Mickey's regular case load. But as the holes in Roulet's story tear Mickey's theory of the case to shreds, his thoughts turn more to Jesus Menendez, a former client convicted of a similar crime who's now languishing in San Quentin. Connelly tellingly delineates the code of legal ethics Mickey lives by: "It didn't matter...whether the defendant 'did it' or not. What mattered was the evidence against him--the proof--and if and how it could be neutralized. My job was to bury the proof, to color the proof a shade of gray. Gray was the color of reasonable doubt." But by the time his client goes to trial, Mickey's feeling a few very reasonable doubts of his own.
While Mickey's courtroom pyrotechnics dazzle, his behind-the-scenes machinations and manipulations are even more incendiary in this taut, gripping novel, which showcases all of Connelly's literary gifts. There's not an excess sentence or padded paragraph in it--what there is, happily, is a character who, like Harry Bosch, deserves a franchise series of his own. --Jane Adams

Happy Friday everybody. Are you ready for the weekend? I have class tomorrow. So thought I would share what we will be doing. I got the inspiration over at Tiets blog. She always has such great stuff. My wonderful friend Sue came over and helped me cut out stuff. I never realize how much stuff there is until I start cutting it out for class kits. This time I was a little over whelmed by it all. But we got it all bagged up and ready to go. The paper is Prima's Botanical Collection. It's a great line.

First up we have Tilda with Daffodil. Along with Tim Holtz fabulous Weathered Clock  & Tattered Banners Dies. Some Spellbinders Rose Creations Roses.

Cherry Tilda Then we have MFT Lacey Doily and a Magnolia Tag. Oh and some Wild Orchid Crafts roses..

Tilda with Flower Pot  More Spellbinders Rose Creations, another Magnolia Tag and some more Tim Holtz Film Strip and Tag.

Seeding Tilda..

Happy Wednesday everybody. Hope your week is going great. I can't believe it's the first of June already. WOW... I finally finished up my water coloring class for next month. Second time is a charm. I love how this one turned out. Maybe because it's so girlie. All the soft colors and and beautiful Pink Paislee paper. I used a new Magnolia DooHickey Die called Heart Swirl. It's so delicate and pretty.

I had to color the image twice because the first time I didn't like the color of her dress. That's what I get for not trying it out first on a scrap. Oh well second times a charm. Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a fabulous day.
